WET PAINT ART GROUP at The Old School House, Qualicum, BC
August 25 through to October 26th, 2025
Our group statement: Although our artists work in a variety of styles, an overriding theme is the shared vision of honouring our environment, specifically the tentative beauty and fragility of our regional landscape. As artists we hope to document and call attention to the endangered and possibly vanishing nature of the central island. For example: Lynda Glover has created more than 100 paintings of the Comox Glacier- predicted by scientists to disappear within 100 years; Victoria Scott’s light-filled paintings of the changing ponds and rivers of Dove Creek and Merville; Kathi Rudko’s colourful renderings of the grasses and wetlands along the Oyster River and Black Creek area that are being threatened by residential development; Jenny Mitchell’s abstract studies of the changing shoreline and ripples of the Salish Sea, and Elaine Prodor’s mixed media pieces incorporating collage and ephemeral elements that speak to the disappearance of everyday objects which we take for granted.

WATERWAYS: The Comox Valley Gallery Hop
April 2nd though to the 26th, 2025
I was honoured to be part of Waterways. My mixed-media work entitled 'Sink or Swim' was part of a group exhibition called 'H20' at Artful: The Gallery in Courtenay.
"Explore the artistic flow of the Comox Valley this April with Waterways: The Comox Valley Gallery Hop. Nine galleries—each presenting a unique, water-themed exhibition—invite you to experience a month of creativity, connection, and exploration. Visit each gallery to experience diverse interpretations of water’s movement, symbolism, and significance. Collect a stamp card along the way—once you’ve visited all nine galleries, you’ll be entered to win fantastic art prizes donated by local artists! Join us for this month-long celebration of art and water, and immerse yourself in the creative energy of the Comox Valley."

"Yin Hoskins, Jenny Mitchell, and Elaine Prodor are excited to exhibit together for the first time. All three artists have focused on non-objective art for the past several years. They share a collective curiosity for creating work that provokes, seduces, and captivates the viewer, despite the absence of tangible subject matter. ‘Abstract: To the Power of 3’ is a collection of their recent work that celebrates each artist’s individuality while incorporating commonalities found through abstracted geometries, shape, line, and form."
